Irma Juneau started working towards bringing peace into peoples lives
through her workouts. She began back in 1996 back in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
as a volunteer to teach water aerobics. She felt the need to help those who
had joint problems and arthritis through workouts either in the shallow or
deep end of any swimming pool. She began as a volunteer because the facility
didn’t have enough money to pay her but once she brought up the membership
by 50% the organization decided to hire her. She has since taken several
training sessions and is certified through NDEITA as a Group Fitness
Instructor. Irma is also certified through LA Fitness International Aqua
Program. For anyone who has joint problems or arthritis . This is an
excellent workout for those just beginning or adding to their complete
workout. Those who want a good cardiovascular workout the shallow
water aerobics is great for staying in good shape along with not hurting any
joints. Water aerobics creates a wonderful resistance yet gentle enough all
on joints. Irma also teaches Silver Sneakers which is a program which
is aimed for senior citizens that is a great workout.
Irma is also a pilates instructor. Pilates is an athletic workout which
improves the core strength and balances the muscles around the joints,
improving the way your body functions, looks and feels. It focuses
specifically on breathing; pelvic placement; rib cage placement and scapular
movement along with head and cervical spine placement. She has taken
certification through LA Fitness International along with training with AFAA
on the Science of Mat Pilates. The pilates program can be done with no extra
equipment with her workout, all you need is a towel or a mat. Irma is also a Fitour Master trainer and is certified to give
certification in yoga; pilates; water aerobics and personal training.
